About the Author

HaND. is a choral veteran with 15 years of experience in practice and organization. A primary Bass, HaND. also demonstrates exceptional versatility as a Countertenor and Vocal Percussionist.

Musical Journey

HaND.'s choral journey began during high school and university years, serving as a bass section member in two prestigious ensembles: the Beijing No.4 High School Jinfan Choir and the Peking University Chorus. During this period, HaND. participated extensively in international competitions and performance tours, gaining invaluable experience on the global stage.

Founding Wu Xing A Cappella

In 2007, HaND. co-founded the Peking University Wu Xing A Cappella Group (北大五行清唱团), an ensemble that would go on to achieve remarkable success in China's a cappella scene.

Notable Achievements

  • 2008: Won the Grand Championship at the Peking University Top 10 Singers Competition (北京大学十佳歌手大赛总冠军)
  • 2010: Performed at the Beijing Television Spring Festival Gala (北京卫视春节联欢晚会)
  • 2010: Featured in Phoenix TV's "A Date with Luyu" interview program (凤凰卫视《鲁豫有约》)

Legacy and Continuing Impact

The Wu Xing A Cappella Group has now been active for 19 years, becoming one of the longest-running collegiate a cappella groups in China. Today, many of its former members continue to pursue vocal careers in cities around the world, including Shanghai, Berlin, and beyond, carrying forward the spirit of a cappella excellence.
